And with winter comes the proliferation of contagious viruses, such as colds, flu & other respiratory illnesses. This tincture was created to help support your natural immune system through the winter months.

The sweet gum used to make this tincture was harvested and prepared by my hand. This product contains alcohol & is not suitable for children.

Alcohol is used in tincturing to pull all of the beneficial properties from the herb while also acting as a preservative. Tinctures have a very long shelf life.

About Sweet Gum:

The plant contains shikimic acid, a precursor to the production of Tamiflu(R) - an antiviral drug effective against influenza viruses. Other extracts derived from sweetgum trees have shown potential as antioxidants, anti-inflammatory agents, and chemopreventive agents. ~Source: PubMed Central

Suggested dosage:

As a preventative, take one dropperful per day. When unwell, take 3-4 droppersful throughout the day. ***Not recommended for children.

If the flavor of the tincture is distasteful because of the alcohol, the following is a suggestion. To reduce the alcohol, drop the tincture dose into a cup of hot water prior to drinking it, which causes some of the alcohol to evaporate more quickly. It is generally believed that adding the dose of tincture to hot water lowers the alcohol content by approximately one-third without removing the health benefits.
